Aagtive (pronounced "Octave") creates original music that is quirky, exciting and hypnotic. Painting soundscapes that will send your imagination into far off places. Using rare vintage synths from the 70s combined with synths and other instruments from the 80s, 90s and 2000's Aagtive creates music that you've never heard before. 

Based in Calgary Alberta, Aagtive has been included in 23 college radio charts to date. His debut album "Internal Happiness" was named #23 in in the list of best electronic albums of 2022 on CFBX in Kamloops BC. The following EP, "Butterfly Sneezes" made 8 chart appearances and "I Live Inside My Head" a collaboration album with Classy Vampire out of Florida made it onto 6 charts. 

Each project release has had critical acclaim. The title track off his debut album received a glowing review from hyp-listed music blogger Postcard Elba. "Butterfuly Sneezes" was featured in music blog site, Dominionated. "I Live Inside My Head" was named best of March on hype-listed Irregular Dreams. And lastly "Music For Near Death Experiences" which was released on the Imaginary North label received a favourable review in Igloo Magazine. 

Aagtive is classically trained on the piano spending 12 years taking one-on-one lessons and a year of full-time music training at University.  He then took a long break from playing the piano until he discovered synthesizers. That passion for sound design and composition led to Ableton Live, then to his first analog synth and now he has a full blown custom studio in his basement. But despite spending time on his paid jobs and his family instead of attending to social media, Aagtive never stops pursuing music and is currently polishing which could be his best work yet.
